About Hi-Five Music Studio
Born in a family of musicians, I was fascinated by music from my early years. At the age of six, I started attending a music school where I studied piano, music literacy and theory.
I continued my education at the State Music College and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in piano performance, accompaniment and piano pedagogy. While I was a student, I regularly participated in various competitions and concerts.
After graduation, I began teaching piano to children of all ages.
From 1996 - 2002, I studied at the State University and received a Masters Degree in pedagogy and music. During those years, I continued teaching while gaining experience on how to create the best possible learning relationship with my students to realize their full potential.
In 2004, I started Hi-Five piano Studio. The main goal of my studio is to develop well-rounded musicians, and help students learn all aspects of playing piano, such as: technique, sight reading, ear training, theory, music literacy and stage deportment.
My students regularly receive First Class Honors and First Class Honors with Distinction awards at RCM examinations. RCM results can be used as a high school credit toward graduation. Three of my students have chosen music as a profession and continued their studies at the University of Toronto.
I encourage my students to participate in music competitions such as: North York Music Festival, Kiwanis Music Festivals, Yip's Music Festival, and Scarborough Wishing Well Lions Music Festival. I also provide recital opportunities for all my students. In the past, I have had a number of themed recitals devoted to W. Mozart, L. Beethoven, J. S. Bach and modern rmusic.
I believe that the ability to enjoy music through playing and listening is a precious gift of a lifetime. My task and goal is to develop this ability in my students.
